This time of the year we find ourselves unpacking the fun summer bags and repacking those bags full of new school supplies. It seems like once August 1st rolls around our days change and get busier and full of lists and preparation for school. For the most part all of this preparation is for the kiddos – all those great new school supplies and clothes end up being for them. Bummer! This year my husband and I will be feeling the school year rush even more because of the extra after school activities and Jude going to school for full days.
While at Target getting some of the items for Jude’s school supply list I decided to get a few items to create a Back-To-School Kit for US – the parents! We deserve this, you deserve this!
Hey, how do you know when you are old? When the first items you think of are pain relief items! Ha! Look, sometimes the truth hurts and so does running after a 6 and 3 year old! TYLENOL® PM and TYLENOL® 8 HR Muscle Aches & Pain have always been products that I use, they help me get through my normal day after visiting the park with the kids or doing Pilates.
This year, it has become obvious the both Jeremy and I need a little instant pain relief which is why I decided to pick up some Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream. We both have been “blessed” with bad backs which leads us both to be in pain some evenings after running around with the kids. Ultra Strength BENGAY® Cream is for adults and children 12 years and older for Temporary relief of the minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with: simple backache, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains. A perfect item to have on hand for our lifestyle!
To add a little fun to my parent kit I picked up a nice notebook and pen to keep track of all of my lists that seem to grow by the minute, some delicious chocolate for emergencies and a few bath fizzys for those evenings that I just need some ME time.
I have never been one that felt like I needed help relaxing and getting a good nights sleep but as I get older I do feel like my body never really relaxes, especially during the school year. I know that as the kids get older I will be feeling more and more of this so to combat that I have been taking time to read before bed, enjoy a relaxing bath and even take the TYLENOL® PM. It relieves minor aches and pains while helping me fall asleep and is non-habit forming when used as directed. Exactly what I need.
I found a cute basket in the dollar spot – hey Target thanks for that – and put all of the parent goodies in the the basket for safe keeping in our closet away from the kids. We are so ready to take care of our pain relief and relaxing needs this school year. Bring it on!
While I am not excited to lose our lazy relaxed days I am really excited to see how Jude does in full day school this year. He is so excited, mostly to take a lunch to school but I know he will do great. Time to get prepared and ready for our busy hustle and bustle school schedule.
Get positively prepared with the right pain relief for you and your family at Target.
What items would you add to your Back-To-School Kit for Parents?

I am going to have to add some pain relief and extra coffee once the kids go back to school to my list! I will have a ton of work to do to keep things up and running smoothly. #client
You've got all the corners covered! I know that once school starts up again I will definitely benefit from each and every one of these products. Love that you added Toblerone
Haha! Brilliant! Never thought to make a back-to-school list for myself! Mine usually has to do with meal preps!
Chocolate, Coffee, and Movies! Well, maybe not movies, but in my mind I keep thinking that once the kids go back to school I'll have all sorts of time. I know that isn't true, life just seems to get crazier when school is in session.
I think it's definitely important to keep those items handy for back to school! Things can get really stressful so it's important for parents to take care of themselves too.
As I get my son's back pack filled up with back to school supplies, I am getting a little nostalgic for shopping for back to school. I want a whole new wardrobe and new fall jacket…is it bad that I added a few new tops for myself in the cart? I miss back to school clothes shopping!!
