Play More Plan Less with Adventures in Gulf County Florida

As the summer begins to wind down, we might all be thinking our beach tours and vacations have to be ending but that is not the case.  There are plenty of areas in the US that us landlocked folks forget about – Gulf County Florida is one of those areas.

What is Gulf Country?

Gulf County is made up of 244 miles of coastline along and around the Florida panhandle so you have access to kayaking, fishing, hiking, biking, bird watching, snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, eco-touring and boating no more than 15 minutes from any given point in the area.

Family vacations are so important, most of my summertime memories involve those great getaways.  I hope that our kids feel the same way.  Since having children, our idea of a good vacation spot has changed.  When traveling with kids you want to find a place with plenty to do in a good location.  Gulf County is just perfect for that ideal family getaway.  With so many great activities every family member will find joy and memories.  Plus with all of those great amenities and activities so close a family wouldn’t feel like most of their vacation was spent traveling to the activities.  Love that.

Using the Gulf County Florida Adventure Guide allows all of us planners out there feel comfortable in planning with ease.  Time to play and enjoy these trips and let the guide do the work for you.  It’s okay, you can let go – I know that feeling, LET GO of the planning and PLAY! You can also enter to win an exclusive 1-week Gulf Florida family vacation in the Never Have I Ever Contest!
Below are a few activities that I know my whole family would enjoy:

A Turtle Walk About – yes you read that right!  Oh man, my whole family would love this experience.  We are a turtle loving family so to be able to see some turtles in their own habitat would be amazing. Gulf County in general, is a huge hot spot for turtles – especially loggerheads. This area has the highest density-nesting beach in North Florida.  So cool.  This walk about would show us how they keep the nests safe on the beach.
A Ride On The Beach – no cars here friends.  Who doesn’t love those beautiful beach scenes with horses?  Imagine being that scene!  The kids enjoy riding horses on my aunt’s ranch in Colorado so I can only imagine their excitement as they ride on the beach with these amazing animals.
Beach Fun – hi we are from a landlocked area, give us beach time.  Taking time to explore a “nature” that we are not used to seeing daily is part of the fun when going on vacations.  I just know that the kiddos would love a few days at the beach.  And for us adults, a lovely walk at sunset.  Time for a little R&R.
Fishing please?  My kids do not like sitting and waiting for a fish all the often but my husband would enjoy that time to teach them all about the different types of fish that Florida has compared to Colorado.
Dolphin sighting – I have always wanted to see the dolphins. Knowing that I could walk out of my room to the ocean and see them swimming near me is simply amazing.  I would turn into a child at the sight of these creatures.  They have always been one of my favorite!
And let’s not forget all of the daily activities the families love to do while visiting the Gulf County area.  Kayaking, hiking, biking, bird watching, snorkeling, diving, paddle boarding, eco-touring and boating.  So many new things for us to try!
