A few weeks ago I had the honor to sit on a panel discussion all about social influencers. This discussion was all about what I love to do – blogging, influencing and social media. A well known social influence marketing agency called Tapinfluence is based out of Boulder Colorado and I was so excited to visit this place. I love having agencies like this literally in my backyard.
State of Influence – Unplugged
When I was initially asked to do this I was so nervous. While I love to write and blog behind my computer screen the idea of public speaking totally scares the crap out of me! ha! But I knew this was a great opportunity, honor and experience that I needed to do. I am so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone once again in the name of blogging because it was a great event filled with amazing conversations, brilliant writers and super creative Tap employees.
The panel consisted of the following guests:
Sandra McCollum – Influencer, A Dash of Sanity
Mother of five, professional caterer, and successful blogger, Sandra will give tips on how to optimize influencer content to spur higher engagement from audiences.
Lane Radbill – Content Marketing Coordinator, CW Hemp
Lane will share how the CW team uses the power of influencers to inform product development and define an emerging category of plant-derived wellness and beauty products.
Censie Sawyer – Influencer, Building Our Story
Non-profit worker by day, influencer by night, Censie will speak to the value of long-term influencer partnerships and the most effective ways to leverage and repurpose content.
Julianna Vorhaus – Director of Influencer Development, TapInfluence
Julianna runs the TapExchange influencer marketplace, and she will give strategic analysis into the panelists’ insights and frame the best way to address issues raised by the Altimeter research.

Here is our recorded panel discussion, I highly recommend you take the time to listen to this. The discussion was enlightening, entertaining and full of great tips for all types of influencers.
I even treated the guests with one of my most popular sponsored recipe – Fresh Fruit Cones. They were a hit!
This was such a great event and I hope to attend more events like this with Tapinfluence. This is a great agency and I love that it is in my home state of Colorado.
What did you learn about the social influencer market after watching our panel discussion?
I learned that bloggers must wear about 50 hats. Blogger, marketing, product tester, reviewer, and so many more things I can't even think of. Plus living your life in the real world like in your case working full time, being a wife and mom. I think people see blogs as this quick way to make cash when really it takes a lot of hard work.
Such a fabulous discussion…not sure everyone is aware of all of the job titles blogger really has behind it. So fun that you shared your treats with them, too. Looks like a great time for everyone.
What an interesting panel of people! Would have loved to be there to hear their thoughts in person. It sure would have been insightful. Thanks for sharing!
This is such an great discussion would've love to be there. Thanks for sharing
I think it is awesome to have panel of experts to talk to and learn about the trends of things that maybe happening in social media. Things change so quickly so it good to network and to stay informed.
That is so much more that goes into blogging and even my family doesn't always realize the little things that have to be done. I always love to hear discussions about how different people approach social media and the influence that bloggers have.
Censie you did amazing and this was spot on. What a great representative for our community! I am so sad I missed but I watched every second of this and I am so proud of you!
I would have loved to be there. It was a great discussion and useful information. I also liked the Fresh Fruit Cones-looked so delicious.
This would have been a very interesting discussion to be a part of!! Lucky you!! Funny you mention, Julianna because I always get emails from her! lol!
I always like to hear what influencers are saying about our industry. It is certainly different for every blogger out there, and it is nice to hear other perspectives on the issues. I will be watching this video!
This looks like a great panel discussion. I'm always curious to hear info on how other influencers work and love to hear suggestions and pick up tips to improve my sponsored posts. Great job! And LOVE your fresh fruit cones. It's a favorite snack to print to my daughter's classroom.
Great job girl!!! I learned so much. I also wonder about commercials will be like in the future. I am more likely to buy something I've seen used by friends /bloggers vs a brand ad.
