This time of the year we find ourselves overbooked and on the go every evening and weekend.  ‘Tis the season I suppose.  The Holiday Season is filled with traditions and fun events and so far this month we have been super busy with those events and traditions.  Time to share the short version of our lives lately!

One of the first events of the holiday season was Jude and Teagan’s school Christmas Program.  I love this tradition because we get to see the whole school perform and sing.  The kids clean up well don’t they?  Teagan was in love with her new Christmas dress because it almost covered her feet.   Love it.

This year Jude was asked to be Joseph in the play.  He didn’t have any speaking parts but he got to wear the costume and stand in front.  He did so well, even though I do think he was kind of nervous.  Both of the kids sang their little hearts out and had a great time.  A perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
The Colorado Ballet Presents - The Nutcracker 2016, Nutcracker performance in Denver, Colorado Ballet tickets, The Nutcracker Ballet, Ballet in Colorado, The Nutcracker Denver colorado
That same weekend we had a ladies afternoon at the Colorado Ballet to see the Nutcracker with Grandma.  Teagan got to wear another sparkly dress – this girl and her clothes!  We love this tradition that we have started during this time of year, I highly recommend putting The Nutcracker Ballet on your holiday to do list.

Last weekend we had another full weekend but tons of fun.  Lucky for us, Disney On Ice was in Denver this month so we were able to attend and have a fun family night out.  The show we got to see was the Disney On Ice World’s of Enchantment.  It was such a great show.  The majority of the show was Toy Story, which we all loved!  So many great characters in Toy Story.  We also got to see The Little Mermaid (LOVED THAT ONE!), Cars and Frozen.  Great night.  Make sure you check your city and see when you can see a show soon.

Every winter we get to see all of Teagan’s hard work pay off by attending her Winter Dance Recital.  This recital is considered their more casual recital but when you are 4 years old, any recital is a big deal.  Teagan is really turning into a great little dancer, I can see this being her passion as she grows older.
This year she is in the 4-5 year old combo class.  They went out on to the stage with our teachers this year!  She did amazing!  Don’t you just love that little shimmy down the Candy Cane Tree!?!  Ahhh!!!

Most of the performances were Christmas/Holiday themed so it was a perfect little afternoon show for this time of the year.
What a great first half of December!  So much left to do!  Hoping to go see some Zoo Lights, make some cookies and have a movie night this weekend.  Let’s hope the weather cooperates so we can find an evening to enjoy the Zoo Lights.  BURRRRR!!
What traditions and events have you enjoyed with your family this month?

How cute are they? This is a particularly difficult time of year for me because I live abroad and capturing the spirit of American Christmas is impossible. Christmas is celebrated on the 24th here and the 25th is like the 26th in the States. It just never feels quite right to me.

December is crazy for us, too.Between basketball season, music programs, band performances, sports banquets, and our regular traditions, we're gone all of the time! While it drives me crazy, I love all of the traditions and school programs. Memories are made, and remembered. 🙂
