The sun is shining and the birds are chirping, must mean it is clean car season here in Colorado!  Well…at least for this week, crazy Colorado weather means we could have snow later but for now, it is time to get clean!

I started getting the itch to wash my car last weekend when we were supposed to hit almost 80 degrees and I decided that the kids needed to get involved in this little chore.  While I drive my car, the kids certainly use it pretty much every day as well.  It was time to teach the kids how important it is to keep your car nice and clean, inside and out.  Don’t you love teachable moments??

One of my biggest issues with washing cars is the water waste but as I was preparing for our little teachable moment I found a few new products in the automobile section at Walmart that I had to pick up and try. The NEW and simple 1, 2, 3 step system from Armor All is really perfect for our car washing needs.  This system can be used anywhere and at anytime.

The step system comes with the following:

  • Ultra Shine Wash Wipes
  • Ultra Shine Wax Wipes
  • Ultra Shine Tire Sponges

When I told the kids they were coming outside to help me clean my car they were not excited.  Before we went outside I explained to them that we travel in my car every day and after awhile it needs to be cleaned just like their bedrooms.  Not only did they understand this, but they said they would be more careful with how much trash, toys and books they left in my car every day!  YES!  So, we discussed the inside of the car and got cleaning.  But when we were done with the inside, I made sure they knew they were quite done yet!

At first they were excited to wash the outside of the car because they thought they’d be playing with the hose but when I brought them the 1, 2, 3 step system from Armor All they were kind of confused but in no time we were having lots of fun as a family washing my car.

The wipes come pre-moistened and treated so you do not have to drag out any other supplies but these super convenient resealable packages and get to cleaning the exterior of your car in no time.  It was so easy to wash and wax my car but also clean those tires that have endured some crazy Colorado winter drives.  No buckets, no water, no hoses, no problem!

The wipes and sponges made this chore fun for everyone.  And with everyone able to use the products we had my car nice, clean and sparkly in no time.  I loved that the kids were able to help with this chore and feel accomplished while not making a huge mess.  I think this could be a family chore we do a lot more often.

Within an hour we accomplished cleaning out my car and making the car so sparkly!  Seriously, I am not sure when we had the car waxed last, my car looks brand new!!  I will be keeping these wipes and sponges in my car for cleaning emergencies.

Are you and your family ready for clean car season? Head to Walmart to find this new car washing & waxing system. Before you head to Walmart, make sure you take advantage of the $2.00 off any one (1) of the Armor All Ultra Shine Wipes while supplies last!

How do you make sure to find Teachable Moments in your daily chores and plans with your kiddos?

My son helps with car clean out at 8. I give him wipes too. Such a better way for a child to clean

Yes to adding our cars to the spring cleaning list! I always feel so much better when I get in and there aren't puppy nose prints on the windows and a Starbucks container in the console. Every year around this time I usually take my car to be detailed .. but this year I just may do it myself. Thank-you for the inspiration!

My boys love to help clean the car. This is such a great example of teachable lessons to instill in our children and also a great way to enjoy time together. Tiny treasures of the heart!

I live in Los Angeles, and in most apartments here they don't allow you to wash your car. What a shock! I used to live in North Carolina where I could wash my car whenever I wanted. Moving here made me realize that the drought's water restrictions made washing my car so difficult. I'm so glad to hear about these wipes, because washing my car without using water would be the only way I could do it here without taking it to a car wash!! THANK YOU for the advice!!

Yes put the kiddies to work and show them a little responsibility. I also think that its cute they got excited to wash the car. Its amazing how a hose wasnt needed for this 3 step system!
