As parents we have big jobs from the moment our children come into our families.  So many lessons to teach, habits to create, and memories to make.  Some of those lessons and habits are less loved by most.  One of those lessons that we have found to be one of the less loved habit is dental care.  Now, that being said; we know how important it really is to learn how to take care of your teeth at a young age.
No one enjoys cavities, tooth aches, painful dental work or those crazy high dental bills which means the habit and lessons of learning out how to keep your teeth and gums nice and healthy is a must!

Jude is almost seven and honestly it has taken a good 4 or so years for him to really learn how to brush his teeth and understand why we need to do it every day.  Thankfully, we are in a really good routine and we are seeing less and less resistance to the activity of brushing and flossing.  So, when I introduced him to TheraBreath for Kids! Oral Rinse he did freak out at first.  Mostly because that is Jude, change is hard for that guy!  But, now that he knows that the rinse is not scary or yucky he loves doing this after brushing his teeth.

Quick Tips For Healthy Oral Care Habits for Kids:

Set a timer:  I will always remember the little hourglass timer I had as a kid for my teeth brushing routines.  Now there are a ton of mobile apps you can implement for those timers.  Make sure kids learn that it is important to brush but brush for the correct amount of time as well!

Make it Fun:  Jeremy has always sung this silly song with Jude and Teagan when they brush their teeth, even now that Jude is brushing on his own we sing the song when he brushes.  Just makes the routine fun with a bit of silly memories on the side!

Flavors for the Kids:  I cannot tell you how many tubes of unused children’s toothpaste we have in our house right now.  It took a lot of trials to find the flavor and texture that both kids could handle – so high maintenance these kids!  Now that we are introduced to TheraBreath Kids I know how important it is to have a flavor that the kids enjoy and can handle. The great grape flavor is perfect for kids and Jude can swish that rinse as directed with no issues!

Fun Tooth Brushes:  Kids LOVE picking out new tooth brushes.  We allow them to do this once a month.  It keeps them interested and committed to that healthy habit!

Sticker Charts:  Jude is a bit old for a sticker chart but we do use a reward system for Teagan when it comes to teeth brushing.  She does love when her chart is full and she can pick out a prize from the box.

Family Fun:  Make oral care a family affair!  Allow your kids to see your teeth routines.  Make sure you are involved in your children’s ongoing teeth brushing and mouth rinsing even if they can do it on their own.

This takes me back a few years! I remember how hard it was to get Jess to do a really good job of brushing her teeth. And then came braces and a permanent retainer and flossing. This looks like a great product!

A regular dental routine is so important for kids! These habits will affect them the rest of their lives. I wish I had been better about flossing. I always forget and my husband never does!

Getting kids to brush their teeth seems to be a never-ending battle. Fortunately, our kids brush them daily. TheraBreath for Kids! Oral Rinse would be a great addition for our grand daughter, who's 7, and when our grand son starts, who's 2. Thank you for posting this!

This is fabulous. When my kids were little getting to brush their teeth was a daily struggle .. and an oral rinse .. I fear .. would have been out of the question. I'm passing your post along to my daughter. I know she'll appreciate it for my grandsons!

I wish I would've known about this rinse about 2 years ago. My little guy had dental work done on several teeth because of cavities. I have to stay on top of him to keep his teeth clean. I guess using the rinse now would be a smart idea, huh?!?

That coupon is a great savings. My son loves to use mouthwash but is picky on the taste so I'll have to give this a try

You are right, so many things we have to teach our kids — it often just gets so overwhelming and I question if I'm doing anything right! This product is new to me, but dental hygeine is of utmost importance to us. I love that they use organic ingredients!
