How To Keep Fresh Produce Fresh Longer?, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver, Rubbermaid FreshVent, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Review, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Container

We love fresh fruit and veggies in this house, especially fresh berries.  My kids could literally eat a container of strawberries, blueberries or raspberries in one sitting.  This means that in order to satisfy their berry cravings I have to stock up on these favorites in bulk.  That being said, even though we go through our fresh produce relatively quickly there are times that the produce goes bad and we lose out enjoy those yummy treats.   That is so frustrating when that happens because our favorites, those berries, are very expensive!
After way too many trips to the trash with mushy, moldy and yucky produce I am happy to share the secret to keeping fresh produce fresh longer!!

We probably all have some of the Rubbermaid food storage containers in our cabinets that we mostly use for leftovers but now there is another type of Rubbermaid food storage container that you must add to your collect. Introducing the Rubbermaid® FreshWorks containers.

How To Keep Fresh Produce Fresh Longer?, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver, Rubbermaid FreshVent, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Review, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Container
What is a Rubbermaid® FreshWorks container?
It’s a food storage container from Rubbermaid that keeps produce fresher longer with a patented FreshVentTM technology. The FreshVent regulates the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide to created the perfect environment so your produce stays nearly as fresh as the day it was harvested! The CrispTrayTM helps reduce moisture and spoilage by keeping the produce off of the the bottom of the container.  This system is really brilliant and I have certainly seen a difference in the “shelf life” of our fresh produce since using these containers.

You can find FreshWorks in three sizes to hold all types of produce:

  • Small (2.5 Cups): Ideal for small berries.
  • Medium (6.3 Cups): Perfect for strawberries.
  • Large (17.3 Cups): Optimal for leafy greens.

We use the Large for our strawberries that we buy in bulk!

These food storage containers are very easy to use.  Simply keep the CrispTrayTM on the bottom of the containers and fill them up!  Once filled, secure the lid. The lid filter lasts a lifetime, no replacements needed.  Hello money saver!
These containers are super convenient too just like your other Rubbermaid containers, they are microwave safe and top shelf dishwasher safe, plus they are BPA-free.

My routine after going grocery shopping has changed a bit but in doing so, I know I am saving my family money and we are not wasting this beautiful fresh produce like we have before! The FreshVentTM technology keeps produce fresher up to 80%* longer than traditional produce packaging. Did you know that Americans waste $24 billion worth of produce every year, which is the equivalent of $192 per household.** That is plain craziness but I can totally see how that number would be correct because we have had plenty of produce go to waste.

When I get home from the store, I simply get out my Rubbermaid® FreshWorks containers, wash the produce and place the fresh, delicious fruit and veggies into the containers.  Now that they are washed and ready to eat we find ourselves reaching for those berries for any snack or meal plus they always taste super fresh!

How To Keep Fresh Produce Fresh Longer?, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver, Rubbermaid FreshVent, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Review, Rubbermaid FreshWorks Container
Keep your produce fresh longer, save money and stop wasting food!  This is a great container to add to your cabinet.  In fact, the next time you have to replace your Rubbermaid containers make sure the Rubbermaid® FreshWorks containers are apart of your container family from now on.  As the season changes to more and more fresh produce options I can see this system really helping us consume off the produce we grow ourselves as well as the produce we buy.

With the upcoming summer months upon us, and warmer weather, we tend not to make foods that require heating an oven or stove. We like fresh fruits and vegetables, for snacking and for salads. We've made salads in the past with strawberries and blueberries. With warmer weather, the challenge is to keep said fruits and vegetables fresh so they don't spoil. Thank you for writing these incredible ideas using the Rubbermaid® FreshWorks containers!

I haven't ever seen or heard of these containers before. I really do appreciate you sharing because we usually do not get alot of produce. The reason being is within 2-3 days, it's usually starting to go bad and that's no fun to constantly have to shop for produce! I will need to invest in some of these.

On a fixed income disabled an while not expensive for most budgets living on $720 a month with no help an a few food stamps the cost of a set of these is off the table for me.
