Spring is here!  Spring usually brings great weather, new growth and my favorite, Spring Cleaning!  I don’t know why but this time of the year has me reaching for my spring cleaning checklist.  The hardest part is finding the time to actually open up the house and get that checklist completed.  As the kids get older and busier, I am finding that my all day of cleaning does not work.  Instead, I find that focusing on one type of room every weekend works way better!

Spring Cleaning Made Easy

The first room I am tackling this spring is our kitchen.  One of our New Years goals was to really work on decluttering all of the house but especially the kitchen.  Thankfully, we have done a lot of work on that since the New Year but now it is time to clean!

To start my kitchen spring cleaning off right, I decided to make a printable checklist to keep me motivated and ready to tackle that room.  Motivation and organization is key when it comes to spring cleaning.

Most of the items on my checklist are things that we try to do every week but in all honesty, they are sometimes done so quickly that they are never really done completely.  I guess that is what happens in a busy household.

My favorite part about spring cleaning is the fact that I get to make more of a mess to end up with a much more organized spaced!  It never fails, when I am cleaning and organizing, the room looks like a bomb exploded but the end result is great!

As I discussed before, decluttering is one of our big goals for this year and we have done a great job at it but for some reason, even after taking a few loads of boxes from the kitchen to charity we still have a mess in our kitchen cabinets.  Sometimes I wonder where all of these cups, plates and glasses come from!  They multiply over night, I swear!
Once I took everything out of our cabinets and cleaned and dusted the cabinets I started focusing on the items I wanted to keep or what I felt like we really needed.  By the way, clean the inside and outside of your cabinets.  You will be surprised at the dust, dirt and grease you see on your paper towel.  Yuck! Here’s a little more honesty for ya.  Some of our glassware had not been touched for YEARS, this meant they were ugly and dusty.  Some of our glassware were not clear anymore either.  Funny what years of sitting in a cabinet will do to a wine glass.

I decided that if we were really going to focus on only keeping the items we would be using that I might as well run those pieces of kitchenware through the dishwasher to get them nice and clean too. Over the years I have found that the Finish brand dishwasher detergent works the best for our needs and dishes. Currently, we use both the Finish Powerball Max in 1 and Finish Rinse Aid.  After a few full dishwasher loads we had our kitchen cabinets sparkly clean and organized!  Such a great feeling!

See the pretty sparkle?  Yes!  Nothing screams SPRING more than a nice sparkly clean mason jar ready for some lemonade!

We love using Finish Jet Dry products.  The Rinse Aid is perfect for our glassware and all of those plastic kiddo cups.  Once we started using the Rinse Aid we didn’t have to dry all of those plastic cups and dishes before putting back in the cabinets!  Hello time saver!

While the kitchen is probably the room I spend the most time in when focusing on spring cleaning I actually really enjoy it. Especially now that I have a great checklist to work off of as well as a great product from Lysol. Lysol Kitchen Pro Antibacterial Cleaner is perfect for spring cleaning.  I used this on all of my small appliances, counter tops, stove, sink and refrigerator.  Spring cleaning made easy, all I needed were some paper towels, Lysol cleaner and Finish Jet Dry products!  BOOM!!  That is the way to save time and get ready for spring!

Ready to get cleaning? Before jumping in, make sure you stop by Target and get stocked up on your cleaning supplies. Be sure to check out Woolite, and Air Wick products while you’re there! They will be a great addition to your spring cleaning supplies.

I have actually already taken advantage of this sale. It is so great. I like gathering the bath and pool toys a few times a year to just put in the dishwasher for a good cleaning. So many ways to get organized with these products Erinn at http://www.parentinghealthy.com/

I really need to go through my cabinets. I have all sorts of cups and mugs lounging around that I don't really use anymore. Think of all of the space I could save! I need to clean everything up to, dust and such. great list!

I have someone who comes in to clean once a month but I really need to give my house a good spring clean. I wish I could add hours to the days. The kitchen is always a focus of mine but I guess de-dusting the fans up high is a priority – gross!

Thanks for the printable checklist. I hate to say this, but I haven't done some of this since moving into our home a couple of years ago. My oven doesn't really need cleaning, though, because I do most of my cooking on the stove top. I do need to deep clean my small appliances. Do you have a guide for that? I'm afraid dusting the top of the fridge is out of the question for me, though. It's in a cabinet and I'd have to pull the whole thing out of the wall to do it.

I haven't started spring cleaning yet. I've been getting the urge but every time I pick a day on the weekend to do it, it ends up being a rainy or cold day and I lose the desire to!

We are remodeling the house and this list cannot come in a better time. How to clean and what to get rid off to make space, organization is essential for having succcessfull remodeling. Thanks for sharing

I haven't started my spring cleaning just yet .. and honestly I've never included everything inside of the cabinets. The good news is before my husband and I moved into our house I did Marie Kondo's process of tidying up. Not having so much clutter has changed my life! Now .. onto the checklist (thank-you bty)
