Last month we took a family vacation to Arizona to visit Jeremy’s parents and sister’s family. It was a big family reunion! It was so much fun to enjoy the sun with the whole family. Since Jeremy’s sister lives in Amsterdam we do not see her family often so it was a great weekend of the cousins just playing and enjoying one another.
While it would have been great to stay all in one house, there just was not enough room so we decided to reserve a hotel not far from my in laws house. After searching around we decided on the Residence Inn Marriott in Surprise Arizona. We decided on this because of the close location but also that it had separate rooms so we would not have to go to bed at the same time as the kids. Boy were we surprised by this hotel – it was pretty much an apartment! So perfect for our needs.
Residence Inn Marriott – Surprise Arizona
This room had a full “living room”, an eat in kitchen, and two master suites with bathrooms – including bathtubs! Wow! Now, we did not use the kitchen much as we were eating with Jeremy’s family but now that we know we have an option like this, it would really allow us to stay for longer extended stays if it ever worked out that way. That being said, there was also a Continental breakfast included with our stay. My kids LOVED the chocolate eclairs. Such a treat!
Wow that looks like an appartment more than a hotel, glad the bed was comfy too (i can stand most things if i have had a decent night sleep!) The idea of a family get together holiday sounds amazing and something i would love to do with mine one day!
Whenever we do have to stay in a hotel during travel as a family, I love seeking out a Residence Inn because it truly does feel like an apartment. We have four children, and one of those includes a 17 year old that really likes being separated from his younger siblings at night. Having that extra large living room space is what helps us! Hopefully you signed up for Marriott Rewards too! They come in handy.
Now that is a nice hotel! I have stayed in a few hotels but never in the Residence Inn Marriott! It really do look like an apartment and I'm sure it was very comfortable. I'm so glad you all had a great time…love the pictures!
This looks like such a great hotel. Your room was huge and perfect for family vacation!
This looks like a great hotel. My only issue when trying to find a hotel for family vacations is that we have a large family that exceeds the room occupancy of most rooms. We have to go to hotels that have suites most of the time.
This is great to know. My sister lives down there in a tiny apartment and I've never known how I would visit her with all my kids in tow. Definitely going to look into this – it would be so great to see her and my niece!
My favorite hotel to stay at as a family is very similar to this one. Having a kitchen of some sort is very important to me. I also like having more than one sink.
That hotel really does look like an apartment. I love being able to cook my own foods while traveling, it really makes a difference financially when you are spending a lot of time away. I also like that your kids got their own space so you were able to get some time away while they slept, seems like a great place to stay!
oh it's so nice to get extended family together! i love marriott hotels and wow is that residence spacious! the kitchen really comes in handy
