Jude is becoming quite the reader. He is fast and loves it. I love that! Last school year, about mid-year he just hit this point a point that we had to find some new books for him to read that were more age appropriate and great stories for young active guys like him.
Book Series for 1st and 2nd Grade Readers
These are just a few of his favorites this summer. I am happy that we have found so many series options for his reading level.
Geronimo Stilton Cavemice book series. After talking to a fellow parent we found out about the Geronimo Stilton books. So many to choose from. We found the Cavemince series at the library and glad we did. Such a fun series!
Hey Jack! Book Series. I wrote a review on these books a while ago. They are great. Jude can read one book in about 30 minutes, however. I would say this is a great starting series for new readers!
Magic Tree House Books. Now, I think everyone has heard of these. I am so excited for Jude to keep reading this series. When he read the first one he told me he loved it because the book was magical!
Are there any book series you would add to our must read list for 1st and 2nd graders?

I love that you make these posts. I need the 4 year old reading list. Heading off to find that one on your site.
I had heard of the Magic Tree House books, but my daughter just checked one out at the library today! She is already several chapters in, and I think that they are going to be one of her favorite summer series' to read through.
We have a grand daughter that will be going into 2nd grade in the Fall. These book series would be a great addition to help her advance her reading. I'm not exactly sure what would peak her interest, but, I'm sure there would be something in them to get her interested in reading.
These series of books make reading so much fun. We got some to take on our road trip that way my son is entertained the whole trip not only with electronics. Finding one story kids like, will have them entertained for longer times.
This post is bringing some nostalgia to me. I grew up watching the Magic School Bus. I am so happy its still around in book form for the kids!
Jack and Annie books (Magic Tree House) are favorites here at our house and anything from The Magic School Bus is a score too! I've never heard of Galaxy Zack. We have to look into those!
What wonderful picks for summer reading! I haven't thought about the Magic School Bus books in the longest time. They were some of my kids favorites when they were growing up. I have a grandson who is just this age. I just ordered a couple of the series on Amazon and had them shipped to him. Can't wait to hear all about them!
These are some great book series picks. My kids were all so into reading at that younger age and they enjoyed a variety of books. I liked that they had choices that kept them entertained and interested to the last page.
My son didn't appreciate reading books until he was about 12 years old and then we found great kids books that he started to devoured! These books would have been great to start him out sooner
