Summertime means long afternoons of the kids begging you to watch shows.  There are afternoons that I want to allow them to do that but honestly, we have to get these kiddos outside and enjoy the summer!!  I decided to make a fun little tutorial and surprise them with a different kind of water fight!

3.  Wrap elastic band around all 9 sponge pieces.  Make sure the band is very tight, this will help the sponge create a round shape.

4.  Once the band is around the sponge tightly, arrange the sponge pieces so they are not sticking together.
5.  They are ready to be soaked!!  Simply place in a bucket of water and let the sponge soak up the water and then get ready for a fun water fight!!

I cannot wait to surprise my kids with this fun activity.  I think we will also use these Sponge Bombs for Jude’s birthday party next weekend.  It will be so much fun!  I know his buddies will have fun with them in the pool.

These are definitely fun to make for water play at home. I know a girl who made a slew of these for a kids church outing, and she literally spend hours making them. The kids had a blast, but it took her a long time. I have made them, but just for my kids to play with at home.

I only learned about sponge bombs this season but boy, are they ever a great idea. I love how you used multiple colors for yours. This is a great way to enjoy some water fun when a pool isn't as accessible as you'd like!

How fun!!! When my kids were little we always make diy sidewalk paint and sidewalk chalk. I miss those days of having all that fun when they were younger.

These are so cool! In fact, I think I saw the neighbor kids with something similar the other day. Love all of the different colors you used. Not only does it make them fun, but also easy to find in the backyard!

Now this is very creative! I would love to make these for my kids, and I like that they are very safe to play with. I love all the colors, the kids just got a new pool last week and these sponge bombs would be a great pool accessory!

I've seen these but never tried making my own. It looks easy enough! We don't have a pool, but I bet they're just as fun to soak and throw at each other. My son and I love water fights on a hot summer day.

MY daughters school had some of these during a fun backyard bash type of day and the kids loved them. I never thought about making them at home but I bet it would be fun for everyone. This sounds like a fun Summer time activity.

These look so cool. I love how colorful they are. My daughter would love putting these together. And anything that you can pour water into and get all soaked my daughter is all for in the summer. No matter how you use the sponge bombs.
