Motherhood Knot Tattoo

When Jude was just a few months old I headed to a tattoo shop to have my Motherhood Knot added to my back.  In addition to the knot, I also added a Turtle in reference to Jude’s nickname – Turtle.  It was by far my favorite tattoo and I loved that if we decided to have more children I could add them to it as well.

Excuse the terrible photo!

Well then Teagan was born and everything in our life got hectic and busy with normal life stuff and of course all of the health stuff. So, my motherhood knot only had Jude on it for a LONG time.  Teagan, would ask me if I was ever going to get “her” on my back.

FINALLY!  It is complete.  The cupcake for Teagan is added, her pink dot in the knot and fun paint splashes for a colorful background.  Kat at Elegant Ink in Northglenn Colorado did a fantastic job.  She not only added to my tattoo but she also touched up my knot and turtle.  Everything looks so fresh.  The kids love it and so do I.  I am glad I finally got the rest of my Motherhood Knot Tattoo done!!
Do you have any tattoos that represent your children?

How cute! I don't have any because I am so scared to get it done. My son has each of his children on his arm and it really look nice

I had a tattoo lasered off awhile back, but I still love them on other people and I love that you got one of significance to you and your children. My sister did the same for her four children and it's beautiful!

I love the motherhood knot tattoo! And it's so cute how you added the other references to your children. I have one, small tattoo on my upper back. I've never wanted to get any others but I really like yours!

What a neat tattoo. I don't have any but have always wanted one done to represent my kids.

What a wonderful tribute to your kids! I have a small tattoo on my left wrist. Yahweh written in Hebrew. There are only two strangers who've known what it means. One works at Target and said he saw it written on the ceiling in a church in downtown NYC. The other a bible student at a local college, who works at Jimmy Johns. x
