Now that the kids are older we find ourselves searching for new pools, splash pads and lakes in our area to explore and enjoy on these super hot summer days. The kids don’t think much about what needs to be in our water day bag but I sure do! To create the perfect water day, we need a few essentials just for the kids. Many thanks to Hyland’s Earache Drops for sponsoring this post – perfect for summertime water day fun!
Water Day Essentials For Kids
I will never forget the screams from our littlest the first time she was diagnosed with swimmer’s ear. She was young – maybe only 2 years old. We had a fun afternoon at the pool and a few days later this little lady was in pain. Due to her age, we had no idea where she was feeling the pain. There was just SO much crying and absolutely no sleeping. We decided to head to the doctor and then when we left the office with a diagnosis of swimmer’s ear, we knew we would have to change the way we planned our pool and lake days.
Thankfully, we have not had that horrible swimmer’s ear issue again with Teagan. This is good because this girl is a fish! No fear, this girl. I love that she loves water days and I also love that we now know about Hyland’s Earache Drops. These drops have, in my opinion, saved Teagan from that terrible swimmer’s ear pain she had in the past.
In a few months we will be heading to Turk and Caicos for a family beach vacation and I know we will be relying on Hyland’s Earache Drops so we do not end up with any painful earaches while in paradise.
No matter where we are headed during the summertime months we always make sure to add Hyland’s Earache Drops to our packing lists. While we love pools, we also love exploring some local lakes, splashpads and hot springs.

Ear pain can hit at any time, whether it be swimmer’s ear in summer after a lake day, pain and burning from a nasty cold in winter, or itchy ears from springtime allergies. Hyland’s Earache Drops work quickly to relieve the pain associated with earaches. Hyland’s Earache Drops are a natural, homeopathically-prepared blend of botanicals and minerals and there’s no alcohol and no sting! This is great for when using with children. Hyland’s Earache Drops also help with other symptoms that come along with earaches; including fever, pain, irritability and sleeplessness.
All I can say is that I wish we had these drops 3 years ago when Teagan was screaming and in pain from swimmer’s ear. That was terrible. Never again, do we want to go through that.
Glad you found relief for Teagan!
I had major issues with water and my ears as a kid. My poor mom. I hope these were around back then, or at least something like it. We live near a pretty cool lake which my daughter prefers to the local pool. She doesn't like the chlorine!
Can we just talk about how incredibly adorable that swimsuit is? Love the fact that it's UV protected as well. And the color combo is just so pretty!
My little guy can't get enough of the splash pad. Fortunately we have three within driving distance. Hubby prefers swimming at the creek. I have to make them take turns on their choices! LOL
Something new… I knew I needed the ear drops but I would have never thought about adding that to my pool bag. I guess if you use them soon the kids would not get pain. Such a great idea. I think we ran out of sunscreen and I might need to go to the store because we have a trip coming up
wow, I wish I had known about the ear drops. Our daughter had a very painful time last year from swimming ear pain. I never even thought for one minute to add that to my swim bag. Now, I always keep lots of sunscreen…cute swimsuit!
How do ear drops work? Doesn't that stuff get washed away by the water? Or do you put it in after swimming and it dissolves the water? Sorry for the silly question, lol.
Thanks for sharing those earache drops, that is a HUGE problem for my family in the summer.
I will have to check those earache drops out. I have never seen any of those things and my daughter has really sensitive ears. I will have to find that and try it out.
When my kids were little, I remember my son having problems with his ears from time to time. I sure wish I'd have known about these back then. In my pool bag there always has to be a good book, along with a dollar or two, just in case I can't resist a treat at the snack bar on my way out! x
Thank goodness we have never dealt with swimmers ear before. I'm glad to know about this product though, incase it's needed in the future.
