It’s fix day!!  I am really excited to share my 3rd fix with you all!  Just like my two previous fixes, my stylist totally read me right!  This one even more so – frankly, this stylist knocked it out of the park!!  I have to say it again, I am so excited that Stitch Fix is now available for Plus Sizes!  Ready to see what was in my fix this month?

One of the best parts about Stitch Fix is that you can update your style profile in between your fixes.  This means you can ask for specific pieces, styles or colors for a planned event you might have.  As you may know, we decided to take a family trip to Mexico after our Turks and Caicos trip was canceled due to the hurricane.  I decided that for my October fix I would specifically ask for a beach dress to take on our trip.  So this fix had a mix of great fall pieces and a lovely dress.

Ah!  Those fall colors and textures get me every time!!  And thankfully, fall has finally decided to visit us so I am totally ready for these pieces.  I have dug out my boots and sweatshirts!
I had Kristen as my stylist again, she did fantastic!!  I hope she will style me again next month.   I really do believe that she looked at my style profile and listened to my requests, concerns and likes.  This is truly what makes Stitch Fix work, in my opinion.  See all of those fall looks!!
So, we took these photos out in the sun…excuse the squinty eyes….so bright!!

Item 1 – Michel Studio Dessa Zipper Detail Top
I am a legging lover in the fall but let’s be honest, my rear end does not need to be out in the world without some coverage so, I asked for tunics or long shirts that would keep me covered.  When I opened this top I knew it would be perfect.  It was long enough, flows away from my hips and has some great detail!  Plus it is black, this allows me to really dress up the leggings I decide to wear – different colors and patterns!  Love that option too!!  This is a shirt that I will need to wear a cami under because it is a little shear.  This shirt is a size 24W, I believe I could go down a size but decided to stay with the larger to give more length and flow.  This top retails at $68.00.
Verdict – KEPT

Item 2 – Loveapella Lauryn Knit Maxi Dress
Well this summer surprise in my fix is exactly what I was hoping for.  Like I said, I asked for a nice dress for our beach trip.  This maxi dress is amazing.  The pattern and colors are perfect and the sizing was great.  I really like the detail fitting on top, it gives me some shape.  The length is LONG, my stylish suggested knotting the dress if too long while walking on the beach.  Might have to try that.  I cannot wait to share pictures of this dress on the beach! The dress is not flimsy either, structured yet comfortable.  This maxi dress is a size 3x.  Because I have a smaller chest area, I probably could do a 2x however, I love the length so I decided this size was perfect.  This retails at $78.00.
Verdict – KEPT

Item 3 – Papermoon Jonis Split Neck Blouse
When I saw this pattern and color I was instantly excited.  It is so pretty!  It can be dressed up or made into a casual outfit.  When I tried this on I was sad, it kind of fit funny.  I am not a person that likes high necked or turtle neck shirts, and this shirt kind of hits in the wrong spot on my neckline.  I went back and forth about this one but because I loved the pattern so much I decided I had to keep it.  This was a size 3X.  Not the best fitting item I have experienced.  This blouse retails at $48.00.
Verdict – KEPT

Item 4 – Liverpool Jacqueline Skinny Pant
Oh this deep jewel tone purple is amazing!!  I would consider these pants leggings rather than jeggings.  They are soft and comfortable yet with a great texture to give them a dressy feeling.  I love skinny jeans that are different colors so when I saw these I knew I would love them.  They can be dressed up or down.  The only thing I worry about is that these might stretch out a bit while wearing them.  I will be pairing them with booties or knee boots.  Great fall staple to have in my closet!!  These retail at $78.00.
Verdict – KEPT

Item 5 – 41Hawthorn Sancha Contrast Sleeve Knit Top
This is such a comfortable top.  Not only does it go well with my new purple skinny pants but it goes amazingly with a nice pair of jeans!!   This top is so soft!  This might be my favorite piece out of this fix.  It fit great and I really love the sleeve length and shape.  I know this will be a top I wear a lot this fall and winter.  This top is a size 3X and fits great.  Retails at $54.00!
Verdict – KEPT
Well if you kept up with all of that you probably notice that I KEPT the whole fix this month!! Crazy right?  The only item I struggled with keeping was the Olive Papermoon Jonis Split Neck Blouse because of the weird fit, but when I calculated the price, it was better to purchase the entire box to recieve my 25% discount.  Yes, you read that right, if you keep all 5 items you get a 25% discount on the entire purchase.  This saved me $81.50 plus I earned my $20.00 styling fee back.  For all five of these items I stayed under $200!! WOOT!!

Here are a few tips I believe that might be helpful when trying Stitch Fix for the first time.

My Tips:

  • Be honest on your profile – list your correct numbers even if it is hard to type those numbers out!
  • Do not look at the price card until you try on your items.
  • Ask for time capsule pieces – items that can be used from season to season.
  • Think outside the box – try something new!
  • Request for special events – need a dress for a wedding next month, ask for one!
  • Update your price ranges as your budget changes.
  • Share your referral link – people will sign up and you will get a credit! Basically that means free clothes for you!! Woohoo!

These are some great pieces. I really like that zipper top. That is definitely something I would wear. I have always wanted to try stitch fit but have been a little scared. I like the tip about not looking at the price until you decide if you like the piece of clothing first.

I've never done Stitch Fix because clothing just does NOT fit me right – unless I go the store and find things. I am short, with large boobs but over all petite. So jeans/pants are a NIGHTMARE for me, and small shirts suffocate my boobs! LOL! This is why I haven't tried SF… And I probably won't! THAT being said, you're rockin' your outfits like no one's business!

I've never tried one of these clothing services but this one really seemed to have clothes that are perfect for you. I hate shopping so this type of thing would be right up my alley.

You look AMAZING in every item in your fix! I see from your verdicts you have the same issue I did when I got fixes – KEEPING ALL THE THINGS lol. I love StitchFix but I ended up having to quit after awhile. I just loved it so much I bought all the clothes!

I love the idea of this subscription service. I liked all of the pieces you got from your third fix. My favourites had to be the black zipper top and the knit maxi dress. They both looked lovely on you!

It's amazing that your stylist was so awesome. It is rare that I hear of someone who keeps everything in their box. But I do not blame you. Everything looks great on you. I would have kept it all too!

I can't believe how on your stylist was. The leggins are fablous on you but the maxi dress was my favorite. I have never tried thia service but what a find. I can't imagine keeping everything. That is excellent.

This plus size girl is glad to see some cute clothes available. I am particularly fond of the Michel Studio Dessa Zipper Detail Top. My next choice to keep is the 41Hawthorn Sancha Contrast Sleeve Knit Top.

I've been wanting try one of these services for a long time, and probably just need to take the plunge. Everything you got is so cute. Plus, I love that they'll send you something summery in the fall. If I was looking for a summer dress in the stores now it would be hard to find. My favorite look? The leggings with the black zippered top. So cute!

Looks like you got some great clothing in that box. I hadn't heard too much about the company but it sounds great. I think if I were to pick a favorite, the dress would be the one I think you look amazing in. Sounds pretty great.
