Leap Into The Holidays With LeapStart™ From LeapFrog + #Giveaway, Leapfrog leapstart, leapfrog items, leapfrog gift ideas, Leapfrog review
I am sure that your kids have been making their Christmas wish lists for weeks, at least ours have.  The moment we get those giant catalogs in the mail, the lists begin!  My kids are totally tech kids, they love their tablets and electronics.  For the most part, I agree with them but do not want my kids enjoying too much screen time with out any educational pieces.  This is where LeapFrog comes into play.
Over the years we have bought so many LeapFrog products for both Jude and Teagan.  LeapFrog gets us…the kids want some screen time and electronics and mom and dad want some educational fun.  Perfect combination!  LeapFrog designs and develops innovative, technology-based educational products and related proprietary content and learning toys and learning games.
This year, we were introduced to the LeapStart from Leapfrog.  This is really perfect for Teagan, she is jumping into the world of reading and is loving it.  Jude, who is 7, is at a 4th grade reading level so she wants to be big like him and read chapter books.  I love seeing them enjoying reading and learning!

What is the LeapFrog LeapStart Learning System?

LeapStart(TM) is an Interactive Learning System that gets kids excited about counting, learning to read, problem solving and more through fun, replayable activities. The magic behind LeapStart is a stylus that reads invisible dots on every page, triggering questions, challenges, songs, jokes and more. The grow-with-me stylus is comfortable for kids of all ages and promotes proper writing grip. The LeapStart library features touch-and-talk games, creative challenges, problem-solving puzzles, math mazes and more for 2-7 year olds with more than 30 activities in every book. Most replayable activities have two levels with more than 50 key skills per level so kids can play and learn at the right level and move up when they’re ready.

What is the LeapFrog LeapStart Learn to Read Set – Volume 1

Learn to Read Volume 1 uses the LeapStart learning system to build reading confidence through six engaging books with leveled learning. As children progress through the series, they’ll read engaging stories with colorful pictures and interactive pages. This Book set encourages children to touch pages, pictures, individual letters and words to help build early reading skills, including short and long vowels. The beginning of each story has a words in this story section to familiarize early readers with words they’ll find in the story, much like the pre-reading activities they’ll find in the classroom. On most pages, they’ll find Say It, Sound It and Spell It icons. Touch an icon and a word on the page to hear each word, listen to the word sounded out or have the word spelled out to hear the letter names.

The entire LeapStart learning system is easy to use and travels easily. It has an easy-grip stylus and requires just two AA batteries to start learning. Both Jude and Teagan have no issues learning and choosing their favorite activity books with no help from us.
Teagan especially loves to read out loud, which is so adorable, so the books that help her read are perfect.  Even if she runs through all six books, she isn’t board.  With so many activities in easy book this is an item that really does keep her entertained for a long time.  Because this is such an interactive educational toy, I do not consider this “screen time”.  Of course, that is up to you as a parent.
Leap Into The Holidays With LeapStart™ From LeapFrog + #Giveaway, Leapfrog leapstart, leapfrog items, leapfrog gift ideas, Leapfrog review
I would consider this a great gift idea for kids aged 2-7.  Even for my son who knows how to read, enjoys sitting down with this learning set to play.  Not only is this an interactive toy with ton of activity options but it is a budget friendly toy as well.  You are welcome!  ha!
Tips:
  • Don’t forget the batteries!
  • Connect learning set to your computer for books to play
  • Keep learning set and activities books in a reusable tote for easy use
  • The LeapStart is a great road trip item
