Slow Cooker Apple Butter
6 pounds apples – peeled, cored and sliced (I used Fuji and Honey Crisp apples for this recipe)
1 cup sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
1TBSP ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1. Put the apple slices in a slow cooker.
4. Cook in slow cooker on low for about 10 hours, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thickened and dark brown.
6. Use an immersion blender to puree the apple butter until smooth.
7. Use immediately or keep refrigerated in a sealed container for up to two months. Can also be frozen! Enjoy on your Bays English Muffins.
There are four different varieties of Bays English Muffins to use in your recipes or with your favorite spreads. Original, Sourdough, Multi-Grain and Honey Wheat. You will find them in your grocer’s refrigerated case next to the eggs – not in the bread aisle. Time to stock up and get cooking!

This just seems like a delicious way to start the morning. I love anything that can be made with a slow cooker. I would SO slather this on my morning bagels – I'm drooling just thinking about it!
I would try this!! I'm not a fan of apples but, I would definitely try this recipe for the kids and hubby. I've never heard of apple butter before!
This literally made my mouth water. I love how rich and creamy it looks. I bet it tastes absolutley lovely. My husband is English so we eat a lot of bread and butter and jam of course. This would be wonderful to try!
I've always wanted to try making apple butter but always thought it was going to take too much work or time. Your recipe makes it looks so simple, though!
And I cannot tell you how much I love that you are using English Muffins. I'm out and have been craving them like crazy the past few days!
Apple butter on English muffins is one of my favorite things to eat. I actually love apple butter any just about anything. I've never tried to make it myself though. I might have to try this out.
I love apple butter and recently make apple pumpkin butter. Yum it is so good on toast, muffins and even in cakes and pancakes. I will have to give Bays English muffins a try.
Thanks for the free printable recipe! I would add this on my to bake list. Definitely a great idea as a Christmas present to my family, friends and colleagues.
This does look very delicious as a recipe. I have made apple butter before, but not in a slow cooker. I am sure that it would be good there as the juices would probably get more intense as they cooked longer. would definitely try this recipe out.
This looks delicious! Do you think I could make in an Instant Pot?
