Seems like a tradition for bloggers to announce their word for the year but for some reason that word never found me until the 2017 was gone. Here I am on the first day of 2018 writing out my goals for the new year which soon turned into me finally figuring out what word I really want and NEED to focus on this year.

Word of the Year 2018 - Fulfill, word of the year, blogger word of the year, what is your word of the year, how to choose a word of the year, best word of the year ideas, Happy New Year, health

I have never been a New Years resolution gal because frankly I could never complete resolutions, I found myself failing year after year, how depressing.  My resolutions soon turned into goals and those goals have been helpful and healthy for me in the last few years.  In fact, one goal I made for 2017 was to turn my blog into a full time career – BOOM, goal met and goal LOVED!  So, friends, as I sit here announcing my word of the year – Fulfill – it came to me for many reasons.

ful·fill
verb
1. bring to completion or reality; achieve or realize (something desired, promised, or predicted).
2. carry out (a task, duty, or role) as required, pledged, or expected.

Why Fulfill?
This year I want to feel fulfilled and fulfill others.  Those goals I have made this year, yes those are going to be fulfilled and while it will feel great to finally check “declutter house” from my goal list for 2018 – mostly what I want to focus on is that fulfillment.  What do I feel after that goal is achieved?
To fulfill others, how many times do parents find themselves complete distracted from the moments they are missing with their kiddos?  Hi – that’s me!!  Fulfill those moments and do it with happiness and love. Fulfill my kids free time with myself – that is really what they want, our love.
To fulfill our life.  I wish I could tell you how many “to do” lists I have for my business but it would take me too long to find them all.  Time to fulfill those dreams, big and small.  Fulfilling those dreams and “to do” lists will be something I am excited to start tackling.  I am ready to share that fulfillment with my kids.  Teachable moments will come with this word!!  I love it!
Word of the Year 2018 - Fulfill, word of the year, blogger word of the year, what is your word of the year, how to choose a word of the year, best word of the year ideas, Happy New Year, health
Happy New Year, we hope 2018 brings you, your family, and friends happiness, health, goodness and many more reasons to find yourself ready to FULFILL your goals!
What is your word for 2018?

This is a great word, and great advice. My word this year is 'do' – I'm very good at making lists, and making plans, but often struggle to actually get everything done. This year, I'm going to make an effort to actually follow through and do everything I say I'm going to.

Love the idea of a word for the year instead of resolutions. I think keeping the word fulfill in everything you do is a great idea and so fitting to many situations.
