Do you feel that? The weather is changing, the music is too and that means it is that time of the year. Holiday baking time with a side of party hosting. Some of my favorite things to do when the holiday season starts rolling around are planning my holiday gatherings and menus to go with those gatherings. To start my planning I always head to Sam’s Club to pick up some winter holiday gathering necessities. I don’t know what it is about the winter holidays but they always make me want to be in the kitchen baking and cooking. Comfort food and sweets are a must this time of the year.
Preparing For The Holiday Season With Sam’s Club
Let me be clear, while I love cooking and baking for our holiday gatherings I do not want to be in the kitchen the whole time we have guests and family over. So, I have found a few General Mills items at Sam’s Club that make my holiday prep even easier.
These items might seem random but I am telling you, these simple products will change your holiday entertaining. The Pillsbury™ Biscuits are always a hit for any gathering and now they are available in a large ready to bake bag. Keep these on hand for an easy brunch addition or side dish option for your table. I am not sure why I struggle in the drink department of entertaining planning but that is where I am always looking for help. Now, my very favorite item to have on hand this time of the year is the Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownie mix. Who doesn’t love brownies? Need a quick dessert for your gathering? These are the perfect option and will have your guests excited for something other than Christmas sugar cookies!
While those Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownies are perfect just served in a pan, I decided that these brownies can easily be kicked up a notch this winter holiday season. With a few extra but easy steps I made some festive Christmas Tree Brownies that will fit any of our holiday gatherings perfectly. A crowd pleaser for sure, and a dessert that can be prepared the day before your guests arrive! Hello easy!!
Easy Christmas Tree Brownies
Ingredients:
Betty Crocker Triple Chocolate Brownies, prepared as directed on box
Cooking spray
Cookie gel frosting
Foil
Christmas Tree Cookie Cutter
Directions:
- Line a 9×9 baking pan with foil. Spray foil with cooking spray.
- Prepare brownie mix as directed on box.
- Pour mix into foil layered pan and bake as directed.
- Once the brownies are done, let brownies cool.
- Remove foil and brownie and lay out on counter.
- Carefully cut out Christmas trees using the cookie cutter.
TIP – In order to make this process even easier, make sure you use the foil to line the baking pan. This will allow you to do your cookie cutter work outside of the pan. When using the cookie cutter, press the cutter all the way through the brownie making it easy to get the shape out in one piece.
- Decorate trees as desired.
- For the remaining brownies, you can create brownie bites by rolling the extra brownie into balls. YUM! ENJOY!
