Well it is December and guess what?  I am proud to announce that back in November I finished my 12th book for 2018!!  Goal met!!!  YAY!  Now, I realize that for some people 12 books is nothing but for me, a person that LOVES to read but simply stopped picking up the books every day this is a huge success for me.

For my 12th book of 2018 I picked up The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen.  As most of you know, I use Goodreads and I saw a number of my Goodreads friends read this book so I knew I had to give it a go.  Now, here is something even more exciting.  Currently, I am also reading number 13 with hopes of finishing it before the New Year!  And as I sit here and think about my goals for 2019 I believe I will be upping my reading goal to 24!!  Think I can do it???

The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen’s The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage – and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

My Thoughts on The Wife Between Us

I really enjoyed this book.  While some of the plot was similar to other “affair” like novels this one really did have a few twists that had me questioning what was going to happen next.   Vanessa is broken. Her husband left her for another woman. And though she knew that he was seeing her, she never imagined it would go this far. Now he is set to marry her, and Vanessa will not let that happen!  Nellie is happily engaged and feels so lucky to have met him that fateful day on the plane. Richard is attentive and supportive, he understands Nellie’s history and loves her more for her struggles. But someone is following her.  She keeps her doors locked, and looks behind her wherever she goes. Still, she can’t help but look forward to her wedding, when she will truly feel safe.

Three are so many layers of twists in this book. It will start slow (hang in there), and you’ll get a feel for the major characters. The twists are dropped on you like bombshells, and you’ll find yourself paging backwards to make sure you read what you thought you just did!  I did find pieces of this book a bit hard to understand and I had to re-read parts but once I did that, I was turning pages to see what happened next.

I would recommend this book but make sure it is a book you can focus on, certainly not a book for an easy read, in my opinion.  I enjoyed the way the authors wrote this book.  Very creative.

Well that was a fun book challenge for 2018 and I am happy with my choices.  I am excited to hopefully reach 13 books read before the end of the year as well. Plus, I have already started building my 2019 must read list!!  Cannot wait to share that with you all as well.  Happy Reading!!
