It is hard to believe that April is half way over, meaning we are well into 2019. Seems like we just rung in the New Year but like they say, “Time Flies When You’re Having Fun!” When we celebrated the New Year, I started thinking about my goals for 2019. I have not made New Years resolutions for years, instead I make a number of small goals to reach that I know are attainable. Nothing is more depressing than breaking a resolution in my opinion. So, my goals work for me.
My ME Goal Update
My main goal for 2019 is ME. I have talked about that goal a few times recently and I am proud to say that I am doing pretty amazing on this ME goal. The ME goal was not just focused on one part of me, but multiple things. For example – my reading goal, my physical goal, my social goal, my health in general goal, my business goal and my self-care goal.
All of those little goals are tied into the big goal of ME. We often talk about women not taking time for themselves, moms forgetting to enjoy an evening off, and wives worrying more about the housekeeping than their own health! I am not going to fall into that trap. And that is why I made this ME goal for 2019.
Ready for some updates?
Reading Goal
As of today I have read 9 books in 2019! My reading goal for 2019 is to read 24 books, I think I am doing pretty awesome with this goal. While I have always loved reading, I stopped making time for reading. Now that I have made this goal I have a stack of books on my night stand as a constant reminder of what I want to read this year and I make time to read at least 15 minutes a day! Simple way to end the day. I have loved sharing my book reviews here and also sharing the books I really enjoyed with my mom.
Self-Care Goal
Self-care means different things to different people. For me, self-care means taking time to get a monthly massage and not feel guilty doing so, getting my nails done and regular hair cuts. In addition to these pampering self-care items I have also decided to continue to get Stitch Fix boxes once a month as part of my self-care goal. All of these self-care items cost money, so in my business goals I make sure that these extras are covered by working hard and focusing on my business goals.
Health Goal
This is not about losing weight, not going to lie though, losing weight would be fantastic! This health goal is about actually taking the time to go to yearly check-ups, being more aware of the food I am eating and taking care of myself mentally. About 2 months ago I joined Weight Watchers to help me be accountable in the food department. It has been eye opening and really helpful with getting on track and staying on track. I am making my yearly check-up appointments and want to keep up with those. To this day, I have lost 12 pounds all from being more focused!
Physical Goal
I sit all day. I have to be honest, going to Disneyland a few months ago was great but I could tell that I was SO out of shape. Finding the time to work out and be active is so important. I took a big step and signed up with new Club Pilates near my house and made an investment in ME. Since then, I have been attending a Pilates class at least 5 times a week and it has been life changing. While I am not running miles, I am being active and making sure my body is strong!
Business Goal
It isn’t all about money but let’s be honest, money is a big incentive! So, for 2019 I have made a business goal that is a dollar amount and I am working towards that goal everyday. This business goal is important to me because I want us as a family to start working towards saving more and less debt!
Well there you have it. 2019 has been full of fun, changes and ME! I am so excited to continue updating you all with how my 2019 ME Goal is going.
YOU GO GIRL!!!
