Last week the kids had a day off from school so to get a media day invitation to enjoy Great Wolf Lodge in Colorado Springs, Colorado to get information on their Summer Camp-In and check out any changes to the facilities was pretty much perfect timing! While I had visited Great Wolf Lodge on a previous media tour this was our family’s first GWL experience. Not only did we have a fantastic family day at Great Wolf Lodge but we were able learn more about Great Wolf Lodge Summer Camp-In.
Family Fun Day At Great Wolf Lodge
From the moment we walked into Great Wolf Lodge we were all feeling special and well taken care of, every staff person we had contact with was friendly and helpful and wanted to make sure we all had a great time during our stay. For this particular experience we had day passes to Great Wolf Lodge, so I cannot give you a review of the actually lodging but from the looks of it, I can only imagine it is pretty amazing. While some family vacations or day trips can be super stressful, I have to admit that during our day at GWL we were all feeling pretty relaxed and ready for a fun day filled with memories.
We picked a perfect day to have our family day at Great Wolf Lodge too, even in May we are still getting snow in Colorado and on this particular day is was freezing outside! So, it was so much fun to enjoy the indoor water park and all the other fun activities in the warmth inside the lodge!
As you read this information keep in mind that the kids did have a Wolf Pass to enjoy the amenities inside the Great Wolf Lodge. There are different levels of “passes” that can meet your family needs when visiting.
Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs Indoor Water Park
The centerpiece attraction at every Great Wolf Lodge is the massive indoor water park featuring water – filled fun for every member of the family. With your stay at Great Wolf Lodge, includes day pass or during the Summer Camp-In, you get access to the indoor water park with a wave pool, lazy river, slides and of course Fort MacKenzie!
As a family we enjoyed the wave pool and many of the slides and then headed to Buckets for lunch, which was conveniently located in the water park area. We all enjoyed our yummy hot dogs and sandwiches and then we were off to do more exploring at the water park. The kids absolutely loved playing on Fort MacKenzie and they even made some friends to hang out with. During this time we were able to sit back and watch them have some fun. Let them be LITTLE!!
Tip – if you are on a day pass, you will want to have money to pay for the lockers. With a large locker room it is easy to change from street clothes to swimming wear and back into street clothes. I was worried that without a room at the lodge we would be feeling out off sorts but this worked well for us.
Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs Adventure Park
Once we were all dried off we decided to explore the rest of the Great Wolf Lodge experience. We started our exploring by heading to the Magic Quest store to get the kids their Magic Quest wands. I honestly had no idea how intense this Magic Quest thing was! The kids were totally into it and really bummed that we did not complete more of the game before leaving for the day. What I loved about this was seeing kids run around from place to place working together to complete missions. It is a great way for the kids to work together and get some activity in for the day. I know that when we return, Magic Quest will be one of the first things we start working on again!
We also enjoy some crafts, bowling, arcades, mini golf, ropes course and some Build-A-Bear fun. All followed by some ice cream! What a special day!!
I have to be honest, I was not sure we would be entertained the whole day but we were! So much to do and we could have stayed later but we had to get home. I really loved seeing Teagan work so hard at completing the ropes course. It is something she is still talking about, it was hard for her but with some coaching she did it and wanted to keep doing the course!
And Jude even got a HOLE IN ONE when playing mini golf! I love this picture. True joy!!
Now that I have shared our experience at Great Wolf Lodge it is time for you to read all about this fun summer event. Keep in mind that every thing you read about above is available at Great Wolf Lodge year round but this Summer Camp-In is something special for a limited time!
