Can Trips To The Playground Build Confidence?
We are a park loving family, especially Teagan. She could stay at a park and play all day long. One of the things we are hoping to do more of this summer is playing outside. Sure we have a great backyard to do this in but heading to a park is always a lot more appealing to the kids. Not only does it give them the opportunity to meet to friends and play but it gives them something to play on.
Encouraging Play
Jude and Teagan have very different personalities when it comes to playing. Jude would love to play video games, read and create games up in his head. Teagan would love to be on her scooter or bike, doing crafts and playing with her friends. One thing that they do agree on is heading to the park to play on the playground.
We are blessed with a lot of sunny days in Colorado which means we have a lot of opportunities to get outside and enjoy active playtime by heading the playgrounds located around us. My kids love park days and I do too because I know that those moments of playtime are also chances for my kids to test their abilities, gain courage, and of course burn some energy.
Make It A Playground Day!
We all get into routines and that includes which playgrounds we decide to head to for the afternoon. This summer we are making it a point to not only get outside more and enjoy the playgrounds around us but explore the ones we have never visited before. We love the Landscape Structures playgrounds the best because of the creative themes and designs. By simply searching the Landscape Structures locator online we are able to explore all summer!
After Father’s Day lunch we decided to head out to a playground that had a Baseball theme. It was so fun! Great challenges, bright colors and a fun theme! We stayed at the playground until the rain sent us home. It was so fun to see the kids take risks and accept the challenges on the playground they have never visited before.
Landscape Structures Playgrounds
As I said before most of our favorite playgrounds are Landscape Structures. They are designed for all ages and abilities. Landscape Structures playgrounds are the signature gathering spaces for communities with the most innovative play experiences. All of the Landscape Structures playgrounds that we have visited have smaller structures and larger structures and are adapted for all abilities.
They are constantly adding new features that encourage so much creative play. Hey, I am all about finding ways to use those brains and keep an active body away from the screens and finding playgrounds that our kids are comfortable with makes that playtime even more fun. Landscape Structures have playgrounds nation wide and all of them have the same qualities allowing for inclusive play for all abilities and ages.
How Playgrounds Build Confidence
Before seeing my kids grow older playing on playgrounds I never really thought about how those moments swinging, climbing and exploring actually help them build confidence and build important life skills. Playground equipment helps children challenge their fears and escape from their comfort zone. Taking these healthy risks on the playground leads to confidence growth.
Confidence is knowing your strengths and self-worth. With confidence children are able to celebrate their successes and achievements but also learn from their mistakes and failures. Inclusive playground equipment, like the Landscape Structures found at many local parks provides all of the elements for children to take risks and increase their confidence.
When we visit a playground I can see both Jude and Teagan facing risks and accepting challenges and from there they grow. The next time we visit the playground they show they have mastered that risk and move to another!
I love how Landscape Structures creates playgrounds that encourages the importance of play. Check out the video below for more inspiring information on play shaping kids.
We had a great time visiting this new playground for Father’s Day and we have a few more on our list that we cannot wait to explore this summer. As a parent I am always so excited to see the kids accept challenges, take some healthy risks, build their confidence and have fun while doing it! Landscape Structures playgrounds are the perfect addition to any summer outing.
Play is always needed. Unstructured time to just be you. Good at any age.
My hometown was lucky in that back in history a couple of competing wealthy families donated for town parks, and they continue to this day. So we spent a huge amount of time playing in these parks, and it does build confidence, and also good memories!
Spending time freely is one of the most important things when growing up. It’s great for the mind.
That is the coolest playground I have ever seen. I wish I had access to this as a kid!
