We made it!! The craziest school year is done and it is time to celebrate summertime!
A Year Of Perseverance!
Last week the kids celebrated the last day of the most mixed up year of school! They did it! And, they did it with grace and awesomeness! I am super proud of both of them for persevering through a situation that the adults of the world have never experienced. While there were days that were real bad, there were a lot of really great days as well. Certainly a school year for the memory books!
It was a lot of fun to sit down with Jude and Teagan the night before the last day of school and work on their chalkboards. I love hearing their answers when I ask them to fill in the blanks. Check out their first day of school pictures here. Both of them have grown up so much!!
Jude – Moving Into 5th Grade
I officially have a 5th grader!! One more year until he ventures into Middle School…I do not know how that is possible. Jude had a good year in 4th grade. He had a great teacher and has a wonderful group of friends that he enjoys playing football with at recess. This super sensitive guy did have some struggles with the ongoing changes in our family but I also saw him grow and mature as he navigated how best to cope with those changes.
Jude is incredibly smart and determined to do his very best and loves to learn. He landed a lead part in his class play this year – I love that he has found a love for the stage. It allows him to express his feelings in a different setting. Great to see. He has a goal of being a robotic scientist and since he has found interest in flag football he also would like to throw his hat in the ring for the NFL.
Dream big buddy! I am excited to spend the summer with you and see you continue to grow into a caring, intelligent young man. Bring on 5th grade!!!
Teagan – Moving Into 3rd Grade!
Oh sweet and sassy lady! 2nd grade was a fun year for you. You did great online and fell right back into the normal school day when you were able to go back to school. I am super excited to see how 3rd grade treats you…3rd grade seems so much older than 2nd grade and I don’t know that I am ready for you to be older!
No surprise that Teagan’s favorite thing about school is her friends…my little social butterfly. I am really grateful for Teagan’s group of friends. Not only are they really great kiddos but their parents are now my friends too. Such a blessing for both of us. Teagan has decided to join some of her friends and move on from the world of dance to the life of a gymnast. I know she will be great at gymnastics as well.
Teagan has stayed with her choice of wanting to be a vet when she grows up. I think it is a great goal and I love her love for all things furry! With Teagan’s strong will and creativity she will move mountains. I am super excited to see how 3rd grade goes for her, I know it will be another great year.
As we move into summertime, I am ready to spend some time with this little lady. Let’s make summer fun Teagan and jump into 3rd grade with big hopes and expectations!
