Last week I shared some of my very favorite Elf on the Shelf Ideas with you. These ideas are fun, easy and help me keep the magic alive during the holiday season. Now, some families have some sneaky, messy and naughty elves. Cupcake and Peppermint are not those elves! I want our elves to be silly but not messy because I have enough mess to keep up with in my house!
Elf On The Shelf Ideas That Are NOT Messy or Naughty
I get a kick out of seeing these parents who are WAY more creative than me with the naughty and messy elves running around their house but I am not going to be one of those parents. Guess what? That is okay and if you are worried about having to come up with those more complicated ideas, look no further! I have some great ideas that will still get your kiddos searching for their elves every morning with a smile.
Ornament For The Year
Every year our elves bring a new ornament for the tree. The kids look forward to those ornaments every year and get real anxious wondering what their elves will be picking out for them.
Being A Little Sneaky Is Fun!
How funny and easy is this idea? It always takes the kiddos a little extra time to find the elves when they hide in random spots. This lamp is the perfect space. Look around your house for these sneaky spaces. Something so simple can be really fun!
Bringing A New Friend To The Party!
The Elf on the Shelf company sent us a few new items to try through out our Elf on the Shelf fun and this new Elf Pets DVD, book and Reindeer plush was one of those gifts. I set out the book, DVD and the Elf Pet for an easy find on the weekend. It was great to see the kids read the new book together and watch the newest Elf on the Shelf movie. Such a fun story!
Let’s Go For A Drive!
I remember the first time the kids found the elves in the car, it was hysterical but made for a great surprise. I always plan this Elf on the Shelf idea for a day we will be in the car more that normal. This particular year I made sure the elves were able to join us for our Christmas light drives. The kids just love having the elves with them on these trips.
Merry and Bright!
The Elves brought the kids light up Christmas light necklaces to wear to the Christmas in Color drive-thru light display. We had to wait until they left for the evening because these silly Elves got all tangled up in the lights! Crazy Elves!!
Let’s Snuggle!
When I plan a movie night or a special viewing, I make sure the Elves get the best seat in the house! A few days ago we got to watch Teagan’s winter dance recital from our couch. 2020 changed a lot of things but what I loved about this was being able to snuggle up on the couch with the kids and watch Teagan dance! Peppermint and Cupcake got to enjoy the show too!
Let’s Go Sledding!
The awesome people from Elf on the Shelf sent me some fun accessories to make our Elves a little extra creative. Cupcake and Peppermint found their scarves and sleds and went out for some winter fun! These adorable inflatable sleds were a hit with both Jude and Teagan. So cute!

Gift Guards
I actually got all of the kid’s gifts wrapped and under the tree, after I did this I made sure that the elves kept careful watch over those gifts. Goodness knows every kid wants to touch, shake and peek at those gifts. The elves made sure Jude and Teagan kept their distance!
