Another week…another book!  Last year I was introduced to Kate Clayborn when I had the opportunity to read her new release Love Lettering, and I LOVED this book.  So, when I heard the exciting news that Kate was releasing another book I knew I had to add it to my 2021 reading list.  And just like last year, I devoured Kate’s book.  Love at First by Kate Clayborn is a book you will instantly fall in love with.  A true love story all about second chances!  I super excited to share my review of my 7th book read in 2021!!

Book 7 Read in 2021

An Uplifting and Unforgettable Story of Love and Second Chances. Love At First by Kate Clayborn. A book review - Love At First. Setting a reading goal. How to stay motivated to read. My new reading goal. Books to read. What books to read in 2021. Should I set a reading goal? Book reviews. Reading goals. Chic lit books to read. Chic Lit books. Must read books for young adults. Fun books to read on vacation.

Love At First by Kate Clayborn

A sparkling and tender novel from the acclaimed author of Love Lettering, full of bickering neighbors, surprise reunions, and the mysterious power of love that fans of Christina Lauren, Sarah Hogle, and Emily Henry will adore. Sixteen years ago, a teenaged Will Sterling saw—or rather, heard—the girl of his dreams. Standing beneath an apartment building balcony, he shared a perfect moment with a lovely, warm-voiced stranger. It’s a memory that’s never faded, though he’s put so much of his past behind him. Now an unexpected inheritance has brought Will back to that same address, where he plans to offload his new property and get back to his regular life as an overworked doctor. Instead, he encounters a woman, two balconies above, who’s uncannily familiar . . .

No matter how surprised Nora Clarke is by her reaction to handsome, curious Will, or the whispered pre-dawn conversations they share, she won’t let his plans ruin her quirky, close-knit building. Bound by her loyalty to her adored grandmother, she sets out to foil his efforts with a little light sabotage. But beneath the surface of their feud is an undeniable connection. A balcony, a star-crossed couple, a fateful meeting—maybe it’s the kind of story that can’t work out in the end. Or maybe, it’s the perfect second chance . . .

My Review of Love At First

Before I jump into my review I need to talk about the cover art.  Don’t you love it.  Maybe you can tell but purple is my very favorite color so this book just jumps out to me.  Just like her other book, Love Lettering, this one makes for a great book to set on your bookshelf for some nice decoration after reading it!  Okay, no time for my review.

As I said earlier, I LOVED this book.  I am not sure I believe in the whole soulmate thing but I do believe that you can meet someone and years later find that person again and see them in a new and different light.  Just like Love Lettering, Kate does a great job of giving us a ton of characters to meet and connect with.  And while this might come off as a LOVE story, it is also all about grieving, moving on and finding yourself after a loss.

I would consider this book a romance book considering the love scenes that pop up but in general Love At First is a nice light read that will bring you joy.  To be honest, this is not going to be a life changing novel but it should absolutely go along with you to the beach or a mountain escape.  Kate allows the reader to escape to a building full of characters, friendships and budding love.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a good chic lit or romance novel.  This is a pretty quick read but will have you wondering…how are Will and Nora doing?

MEET KATE CLAYBORN

Kate Clayborn lives in Virginia, where she’s lucky enough to spend her days reading and talking about all kinds of great books. At home she’s either writing, thinking about writing, or—during long walks around her fabulous neighborhood—making her handsome husband and sweet-faced dog listen to her talk about writing.

Other books by Kate Clayborn include; Love Lettering, Beginners Luck, Best of Luck and Luck of the Draw.

SMASHING THOSE GOALS

Book 7 read! I really enjoyed this book and have found that I love Kate’s writing.  I have already added her other books to my reading list.  Keeping that reading momentum going! Off to a super start for 2021!  I have found that setting a goal of reading at least 50 pages a day is really helping me this year. I am always looking for new books to add to my reading list so please share some books you have really enjoyed recently.  Make sure you check out my 2021 Reading List and Goal too.  Maybe you can add some of my books to your list this year!
