Samoas Chow – Girl Scout Cookie Puppy Chow

I love puppy chow, in fact I shared a yummy Valentine Puppy Chow recipe last month that was a hit with my whole family.  Well this month I am focusing on another favorite in my house right now – Girl Scout Cookies!  ‘Tis the season!!  I am sure you and your family all have their favorites but for us, we all love the Samoas.  SO GOOD!!  I decided to surprise the kids with a yummy treat this week – Samoas Chow, a delicious Girl Scout Cookie Puppy Chow.

My Favorite Time Of The Year

Okay, well maybe it isn’t my very favorite time of the year but it is a sweet time of the year – GIRL SCOUT COOKIE TIME!!  I grew up selling Girl Scout Cookies, so I have had my fair share of these delicious cookies BUT my very favorite cookie that those little ladies sell is the purple box of Samoas!   I won’t embarrass myself and tell you how many boxes I have bought this year…so far.

Well, and lucky me, both Jude and Teagan LOVE the Samoas too.  Dang it…I have to share them now.  Knowing that I enjoy making Girl Scout Cookie inspired recipes you better believe I am always thinking about how to create a treat that the kids and I can enjoy for a yummy dessert.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup chocolate spread
4 TBSP butter
2 cups milk chocolate chips
2 TBSP milk
1/4 cup Caramel sauce
2 cups shredded coconut
8 cups Chocolate Chex cereal
3 cups powdered sugar
1 box Samoas Cookies

Directions:

1. Combine the chocolate spread, milk, butter, and chocolate chips in a medium microwavable bowl.

2. Microwave mixture for 1 minute, then stir until melted and creamy. Add caramel sauce and stir until completely combined.

3. In a large bowl, combine Chocolate Chex cereal and the shredded coconut.

4. Pour melted chocolate mixture over cereal mix and toss with a spatula to completely coat the cereal.  Do this slowly so the cereal is not crushed.

5.  Sprinkle powdered sugar over cereal and once again, using the spatula, carefully mix the cereal and have the powdered sugar coat the cereal evenly.

6.  Cut Samoa cookies into tiny pieces and sprinkle into the Samoas Puppy Chow.

7. Let chocolate set for a few minutes before serving.  ENJOY!!

Girl Scout Cookie Puppy Chow

So easy right?  This is sure to be a hit with anyone who loves the Samoas Girl Scout Cookies.  This is a great treat to make ahead of time for parties or travel too – keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days.  I know Jude and Teagan will love digging into this delicious Samoas Puppy Chow Recipe.  Favorite Girl Scout Cookies, Chocolate, Coconut and Caramel…what more could you ask for?
