It is hard to believe that it is that time of the year again! Elf on the Shelf time!! As the kids get older, the magic surrounding Santa gets harder to keep alive. Thankfully these crazy Elves help me out! I know you are looking for some creative, easy and fun Elf on the Shelf ideas and these are some of my very favorite! Some old…some new!
My Favorite Elf On The Shelf Ideas
Both of my kids have had their Elf on the Shelf for many many years, a true holiday tradition in our home. They absolutely love it but as a parent it can get difficult to get through the days until Christmas Eve. I love trying to be as creative as possible with the ideas but there are days where I just need a little help and inspiration! I know I am not alone in this challenge!
MERRY AND BRIGHT!
The Elves brought the kids light up Christmas light necklaces to wear to the Christmas in Color drive-thru light display. We had to wait until they left for the evening because these silly Elves got all tangled up in the lights! Crazy Elves!!
MARSHMALLOW BUBBLE BATH
Okay this one is my favorite. It always takes the kids a little longer to find the Elves on this day because they are in the bathroom rather than in the living room or kitchen. Such an easy but cute way to bring a smile to the kids faces when they find them. The mini rubber duckies really add to it too.
ORNAMENT FOR THE YEAR
Every year our elves bring a new ornament for the tree. The kids look forward to those ornaments every year and get real anxious wondering what their elves will be picking out for them.
OH CHRISTMAS TREE!
Peppermint and Cupcake look so festive in our decorated Christmas Tree. This is also a great look out for them – they can see it all from the tree!! And the kids look at them often, they know they are watching!
STUCK IN THE COOKIE JAR
I have used our cookie jar a few times over the years for the Elves. I always make sure to try to hide the elves by adding really big Christmas cookies to the jar. This was a hit…mostly because of the fun decorated and yummy cookies that they got to enjoy for desserts!
BREAKFAST IS SERVED
We start our Elf on the Shelf tradition on December 1st. The Elves come with powdered donuts for breakfast. It is so fun! I also make sure that the elves bring festive plates and napkins to enjoy breakfast. It is a great way to get the kids ready for a fun season.
LET’S GO FOR A DRIVE!
I remember the first time the kids found the elves in the car, it was hysterical but made for a great surprise. I always plan this Elf on the Shelf idea for a day we will be in the car more that normal. This particular year I made sure the elves were able to join us for our Christmas light drives. The kids just love having the elves with them on these trips.
