Shopping for the kids just got easier with Stitch Fix Kids. No more hassles at the stores and continue to have an updated in fashion wardrobe delivered to your door and stay on budget.  I am excited to share Jude’s very first Stitch Fix.  Jude is not as much of a fashion forward kiddo like his sister but he was super curious about what was going to be in his fix.

This post contains affiliate links, including my Stitch Fix referral link. I receive a small commission each time someone makes a purchase or signs up for a Stitch Fix using my link.

Jude has seen me get my Stitch Fix boxes for about a year now.  He is not as excited about these boxes as Teagan is but when we had the opportunity to give Stitch Fix Kids a try we decided that we had to see what options Jude might have too.  Jude is a difficult fit.  He is very tall and solid.  Even a simple t-shirt is hard to fit because they need to be long but not too wide.  So, that being said I was a bit nervous to see if any of the items in Jude’s Stitch Fix box would even fit him.

Once we got the fix in the mail Jude started getting curious…ready to see what was in Jude’s 1st Stitch Fix?

The Stitch Fix Kids box comes packaged just like the Woman’s and Men’s.  It is beautifully packaged but also came with some fun stickers for the kids.  Jude loved the packaging because his favorite color is yellow.

Okay, enough talk, you know the drill.  Jude got a box full of great clothing and accessories and now has to decide what to keep and what to send back.  We have 3 days to send the items back if we decide not to keep them and if you buy the whole fix you get a 25% discount on the WHOLE box.  Ready to see our little man try on his very first Stitch Fix?

Item 1 – HURLEY Lewis Graphic Tee

When Jude opened his fix he was so excited to see this shirt.  It was fun, colorful and totally creative with the shark wrapping around him.  This shirt is a size 12 and retails at $16.00.  The material was super soft and Jude loved it.  I liked that it was a graphic shirt with out a video game on it!  HA!

Verdict – KEPT!

Item 2 –  Capsule Adam Cargo Short

What was really funny about these shorts was that he has pretty much the same pair already.  Identical color!  He wears shorts a lot and these shorts fit great.  They were a size 12 and are in a really nice Teal Green color.  They retailed at $24.00.

Verdict – SENT BACK!

Item 3 – Toms LENNY MID TOP SNEAKERS

I was super excited for him to try these sneakers.  I loved the look and the color…he hated the ties.  This kid loves his slip on shoes.  These were a size 4Y and they fit perfectly. They retail at $44.00 so they were within our shoe budget but he decided he did not want to tie shoes.

Verdict – SENT BACK!

Item 4 – Capsule Bobby Short Sleeve Graphic Tee

This shirt was a size Medium and it fit well.   While Jude loves wearing t-shirts, especially graphic tees, he was not that into this shirt.  This graphic tee retails at $12.00 so the price was great.  But Jude decided to send this one back.

Verdict – SENT BACK!

Item 5 – Capsule Isaac Knit Pocket Tee

We all loved this fun t-shirt.  The fun details of the cactus prints and the different color pocket made this a favorite.  This shirt was a size Medium and is a little tighter than some of his other shirts but we believe that for the next few months he will get some good use out of it.  This shirt retailed at $14.00.  Another great deal!

Verdict – KEPT!

Item 6 – Capsule Jude Woven Short

Yes, the name of the shorts match his name!  So fun!  YAY for Jude!  Jude loves shorts, he is the kid that would wear shorts year round if we let him.  These shorts are long on him which is unusual.  They fit the waist great and he really like the pattern.  These shorts are a size 12 and retail at $18.00.  I like them because they seem a little dressier than cargo shorts.

Verdict – KEPT!

Item 7 – Level 10 Langston Roll Tab Woven

Oh my gosh!  He looked so grown up in this button down roll tab shirt.  We loved the print, color and style but it was just a bit too tight on him.  We considered asking for an exchange for a larger size but Jude decided against it.  This shirt retailed at $20.00 which is a little higher in price but totally worth it for a dress shirt.  This was a size Medium but too snug for Jude.

Verdict – SENT BACK!

Item 8 – Hanna Andersson Alfie Long Sleeve Pocket Tee

I have always loved the Hanna Andersson style, this long sleeve tee was textured and seemed very comfortable.  Jude felt like it was too big and he didn’t like how it fit.  This was a size 12 and retailed at $18.00.

Verdict – Sent Back!

Item 9 – Warp + Weft Amber Slim Denim Pant

Hard to believe that we will need to go shopping for jeans soon.  While we are not there yet we were happy to find these jeans in Jude’s fix because they actually fit him really well!  They were long and comfortable. Jude also likes the dark wash.  These denim pants retail at $28.00 and are a size 12.  They are a bit over our jean budget but because they fit him so well we decided to keep them.

Verdict – KEPT!

Item 10 – CALI SUPPLY CO. Noah Long Sleeve Graphic Shirt

Okay, if you cannot tell from this picture, Jude LOVES this shirt.  This is the first thing he asked to keep when we opened his fix.  The sleeves are a little long on him but we can roll them up.  He is excited to wear this with his new jeans.  This shirt retails at $16.00 and is a size 12.

Verdict – KEPT!

We were so happy with his fix.  While we did not keep it all we do love the pieces we kept.  We have scheduled his next Stitch Fix in October in hopes of getting some great fall and winter items to add to his closet.

Here are a few tips I believe that might be helpful when trying Stitch Fix for the first time.

MY TIPS WHEN SUBSCRIBING TO STITCH FIX KIDS:

  • Be honest on your child’s profile – get the scale and measuring tape out!
  • Do not look at the price card until the kiddos try on their clothes.
  • Ask for time capsule pieces – items that can be used from season to season.
  • Think outside the box – try something new!
  • Request for special events – need a dress for a wedding next month, ask for one!
  • Update your price ranges as your budget changes.
  • Share your referral link – people will sign up and you will get a credit! Basically that means free clothes for you!! Woohoo!
