Recently, I shared my health journey of losing 70 pounds and taking better care of myself. My journey isn’t over yet; working on another 30 pounds but until I reach the goal I clearly need a some clothing items updated. I think my biggest struggle with this journey is finding the confidence in my new body; impostor syndrome is not easy to deal with but one way for me to really see my true self is by donating those clothes that are way too large on me for some clothing that fit great and have me feeling confident!
February Stitch Fix – Confidence In Shopping
Item 1 – LETY & ME Florissa Lattice Detail Pullover
This top was so soft and comfortable. While I feel like it was a great basic to add to my closet I did feel like at a size 1x it was a bit big on me. The color is listed as Olive and I wasn’t a big fan of it. The cute Lattice detail made this top really appealing. This was a great deal at only $38.00.
Verdict – SENT BACK!
Item 2 – Dear John – Jenna Distressed Skinny Jean
I am a jeans gal. I love skinny jeans. Easy to dress up or down. These distressed skinny jeans were super cute and comfortable. The inseam was a bit long on me and I felt like they were too long. These were a size 16W. I was tempted to purchase because I did feel like they fit okay but wondered how long I would be able to wear them as I continue to lose weight. These retail at $88.00 so that was another reason I was not sold. I bit pricey.
Verdict – SENT BACK!
Item 3 – Market & Spruce Tania Buckle Bootie
Oh I love these booties. The color is fantastic – a nice Taupe. The heal height is great for any type of occasion. They were really comfortable too. I normally wear between a 9 and 10 in shoes depending on the brand. These were sent to me in a size 10. The slipped a lot. I probably could have sized down to a 9! These were an investment at $85.00 and I did consider having a size 9 sent to me for an exchange but decided that as we move closer to warmer weather I could pass on the booties this time.
Verdict – SENT BACK!
Item 4 – Market & Spruce Liss Button Back Striped Top
I am not a big yellow fan but there was something about this mustard striped top that had my interest from the moment I saw it. This is a light weight top that will be great for early spring as the weather changes. The small and larger stripes add a lot of structure to this top and in my opinion makes it super flattering. The back has some cute buttons on the back that adds a little extra to this look. This is a size 1x and it is roomy but not too big. I LOVE THIS TOP! At $54.00 it is a bit expensive but in true Market & Spruce fashion the quality is obvious.
Verdict – KEPT!
Item 5 – Collective Concepts – Romain V Neck Blouse
Oh I wanted this one to be a keeper so bad. The light weight blouse and pretty pattern had me ready for some spring brunches on the patio. I put this top on and just didn’t feel right. The sleeves were cute with the added cuff details but I felt like the length just wasn’t flattering – for the sleeves and the top. This blouse was a 1x and it did fit but just not properly. This retailed at $48.00. Not terrible for a dressy blouse.
Verdict – SENT BACK!
